So how did the club start? I wanted to attend the Romsey Pageant of Motoring many years ago with a couple of friends. I called the organisers and asked if we could come along. they asked the name of the club! I didn’t have a clue, so I looked at my desk and there was an envelope addressed to me, Looking at it, I decided the the Dorset Car Club sounded good. And so there it was. Now some 12 years later the club is still going!
The team work hard for your club. We let you know what shows are on (you could help us with this, if you know of a great show then tell us!) and we can arrange camping for you. Remember we actively encourage the whole family to come along. To join the club click here
Dorset Car Club has a great Face Book page. You will find lots of information about the club, and the most up to date list of the shows we are attending. If you have a problem with your car we have some really clever people who may be able to help you out. Click here to go to our page
We have members from all over the South of England, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Gosport, Bristol, North Devon and of course Dorset! So as a result most of the events are based in and around Dorset, but if you have a great show outside the area, then let us know and we may well be along! But we do love to camp / caravan, have BBQs and a social beer or two. And we have amazing breakfasts!
The Wings and Wheels event is run by one of the club members and so you are most welcome to come along. The show is on the Summer Bank Holiday Saturday and is staged at Henstridge Airfield on the Dorset/Somerset border, between Sherborne ansd Shaftesbury. We are always looking for helpers at the show, so if you want to get involved, just get in touch. Click Here for more information.
And if you want to really become part of the club, T shirts, polo shirts and Hoodies are available, plus more stuff . Click Here to go to the shop
So if you are looking to join a club with great cars and other bits of machinery, great supportive people, where politics don’t come into the conversations and you love your car, or bike, or fire engine or steamer, then why not pop along to one of the shows and see what we are up to.
